Syncopated Harmony

Blade has taken you to a jazz bar, and Brielle realises the trumpet player is signalling to you. You follow the instructions to head out to the back of the bar.

Blade introduces you to the trumpet player – his old friend Jamal Afari, who taught him to be a vampire hunter. He knows of a few nests where you might be able to find out some into.

You search a condemned hotel and Jamal tells you a little about Blade as a child. The hotel is empty, but there's another building up the road.

You're ambushed by a large number of vampires. Excalibur's magic grows out of Faiza's control and starts to hurt the vampires along with Blade, Brielle... and you. You run in time to escape the vampires being destroyed. With that nest destroyed, you move on.

You find someone who the vampires have killed, and Brielle accuses Jamal of betraying them, and reveals that he is a vampire. Blade says that Jamal gets a pass as a vampire because he has control – if he tries to bite someone, Blade will stop him. Brielle is not convinced. You decide to head back to Lady Vanity's place.

Lady Vanity says that some lawyers visited trying to pressure her into selling the brothel. She's found that someone has been buying up local property – and they have a base at Castle Dunwich. Vampires just can't help themselves. You'll need to prepare for a raid. Jamal draws you aside and tells you to be more careful or they'll figure out you're a vampire. Watch out and take care of your friends.
