Mammoth Hunters

You are running across the plains on your very first hunt in search of a mighty mammoth. The chief talks about the dangers of the cold but reassures you and reminds you that you're looking for the weakest animals. Ila, your older sibling, will be with you, and is already a hunter. You're interrupted by Ataneq, the Chief's son, who brags about being the best hunter. The Chief berates him, but Ataneq insults him! The Chief sends Ataneq and Ila ahead, but you soon hear fighting and rush to catch up. Ila says that Ataneq tripped them, and that the herd doesn't seem to have many weak or old animals. But you desperately need the meat and fur and bone if you're going to survive! You decide to try to run the mammoths towards the edge of the glacier and hope one of them will fall. Ataneq objects to the plan, but the Chief thinks it is the best option and puts Ila in charge.

The Chief gives you a spear. You and Ataneq are going to sneak up on the mammoths at the back of the herd and scare them. Ataneq objects, but shows you what to do. When the mammoths are moving, you use a slingshot and hit one with a rock, while Ataneq finishes off another. The other hunters run several of the mammoths off the cliff. That should be plenty to keep your tribe going through winter! You head towards the carcasses. Ataneq warns you that the slope is easy to fall on. Ila doesn't listen and slips, and is left hanging from the edge of the cliff. You need to help them!

The Chief tries to pull Ila back up, but he isn't strong enough these days. Ataneq rushes in and says that he'll do it. Ila is mistrustful, but Ataneq reassures them and finally manages to pull them to safety, although not without some bragging. The Chief thanks Ataneq, but reminds him that when he is Chief, he will need people to appreciate him enough to risk their lives for him. You need to finish collecting the mammoths, but you take a moment to appreciate the beautiful Aurora Borealis.
