Family Business

You're nearly at the monastery with Felix and Isabel. Felix agreed to go with you in exchange for not being arrested. Isabel explains that the thief caused a massacre at the monastery. Felix says the thief is called Austen, and doesn't believe his brother would do such a thing. Isabel thinks the monks must have had something Austen wanted.

You spot a zombie monk as you enter, and Felix insists it is proof that his brother is not responsible. You might want to hurry – the undead monk has apparently not taken a vow of pacifism.

Felix recognises several of the monks and says that he used to have lessons here. You head into the cloisters and Felix tells you that his brother and sister, Daniella, took over the town when the apocalypse came. Daniella left town to look for resources but never came back. Austen went hunting for her. There are zombies behind you. Run!

You make it to the chapel but the door won't hold the zombies for long. Sam spots something odd about an object on the lectern – that isn't a bible, it's a zombie lure, like the one from Valmont's house. Felix recognises it as his brother's design. Felix takes the noisemaker and runs, intending to draw the zombies away so you and Isabel can escape.

You catch up with Felix in the monastery graveyard, but the batteries in the noisemaker have run out. Felix tells you that there's something hidden beneath the graveyard, and leads you down into the ossuary. He tells you about his brother and about himself as you head to the inner sanctum. There is an old book there, but the map he came to show you is gone. Isabel contacts you to say she's found some pans to make noise to draw off the zombies, but it won't work for long.

All the different sounds have confused the zombies and you're in the clear. You look through the book and discover it is a diary written by a conquistador who ended his days in the monastery. Felix says that the map was one of a pair and you might be able to find another. If the legends are true, the conquistador's brother had the second map, and Felix knows where to find him.
