The Tower of Great Light

You're on the way to one of the Vanir's spell forges with Thor and Loki. You'll be crafting a spell to track ley lines so you can find the source of the problem.

You will eventually need to return the ley lines to the correct position, but finding the source is more important currently. Whoever is causing this, they are powerful.

It goes dark suddenly. The Great Light of the city has gone out! There's nothing to keep the Shadow Nixes at bay.

You meet Idunn who says they've already lost people to the Shadow Nixes. She gives you the key to the Great Light's tower and tells you to find out what happened and rekindle it if you can.

You reach the tower and narrowly avoid a trap. Use knee lifts to build a charge and break the trap's web!

That trap is making an ominous sound.

The sound is getting louder.

Speed up your walk.

That buzzing is very unpleasant.

Loki tries to get the door open.

You get into the tower and keep moving.

The tower is much larger inside than it looked.

It's unnervingly quiet in here.

No more traps yet.

You see several people sprawled on the floor. Loki says they are beyond your help.

This is impressively foul magic at work.

Loki is worried you might draw the attention of the bodies if you walk too quickly.

The bodies are crawling after you.

If you speed up so shall they. Running would be a bad idea.

Ethereal blades attempt to hamstring you. These traps are determined to cause fear. You're nearly at the top of the tower and you'll need to distract your pursuers so Loki can check the light.

The door to the Great Light's chamber is ahead.

Thor kicks one of the bodies and it hurts him.

Thor can't close the door. Lead the bodies on a slow chase to keep them away from Loki.

There are strands around the Great Lantern swallowing its light and they burn on contact.

The spell can only be broken at its point of origin. You need to escape the tower.

You're nearly at the window!

Thor hit the corpses with Mjolnir and they explode, thankfully out of the window. Thor flies you out of the window but the Shadow Nixes can be heard. Vary your pace to confuse them.

The Shadow Nixes seek electricity so Mjolnir would draw their attention.

The spell on the Great Light leads away from the city.

You hear screaming.

Thor wants to help the city.

Stopping the spell will save more lives than Thor throwing himself into the fight.

Loki doesn't know how far it will be.

Loki insists that if you restore the Great Light, the attack will fail.

Aren't you having fun?

The Shadow Nixes seem to be getting close.

Move lightly on your feet.

If they get close, Thor will fight them, even without Mjolnir.

Keep going! Thor hits one of the creatures when it attacks.

You're lucky there was only one of them.

You've gained some distance at least.

Thor will give you fifteen minutes before he takes matters into his own hands. Idunn contacts you through an owl and says the city cannot last long against the swarm. She says your footsteps shine brightly in the flow of magic.

Loki thinks you're close. This is a result of your scrying. Loki gives you his pendulum and tells you to go the way that feels right.

You're attacked by the monsters from Midgard. Loki knows they aren't from Vanaheim which means they must be guarding what you seek. Keep running!

Thor and Loki rejoin you. You see a blue glow amongst the trees.

You find the source of the spell and its guards. Idunn's messenger tells you that the Shadow Nixes have breached the walls. Thor uses Mjolnir's power to draw the Shadow Nixes away from the city.

Loki needs more time and the Shadow Nixes are approaching. Put on a final burst of speed!

Loki has weakened the crystal and Thor shatters it with Mjolnir. The Great Light returns and the Shadow Nixes evaporate. Return to the city, but this time you can walk.
