someone is always watching

James never bothered to hunt Marigold, thinking her irrelevant. But he might as well do so now. Robert tries to intervene, and James lunges towards him with a sedative. They fight, but James manages to scratch him with the sedative. While he's distracted, Marigold whacks James with an ice hammer. He's not dead, so she grabs Robert and starts moving. You need to meet up with Natalie and Alexander.

Natalie, Marigold, and Alexander finally meet, memories merging now that they are close. There is too much for them to talk about and they respect themselves more for seeing themselves from the outside. Robert is feeling the effects of the sedative, then he hears something. He has always heard it, but ignored it until now. A presence watching and listening. Natalie realises Styles is here.

The prison is iridescent, the shapes on the surface always shifting. Shoshanna says there's a maintenance tunnel that leads to the centre, but if you took it, you wouldn't find the entity. The entity is everywhere here, in all of the chambers, but the only way to contact it is to pass all of the chambers in turn. Towers nearby also need to be activated by sensitives. She's been reading the files they recovered from the festival site. The towers are connected by a glass path, and Natalie recognised the shape of it from the air – it's been seen in dreams and artwork around the world. Shoshanna says the CIA didn't know what it was. Styles has entered the first spiral, and with the mask, she is the most powerful here. You can all feel her.

Natalie, Marigold, and Alexander are unmoored, caught up in Styles's mind. The others consider the spiral and how often it appears in nature and as a symbol around the world. The files say that whatever this thing is, it's powerful and ancient, and it needed to be controlled by three sensitives at once. If you get sensitives into the towers, maybe you can stop Styles. The three non-sensitives will go into the spiral, and Natalie says she and Alexander will go to the towers. Marigold will stick with Robert. They feel when Styles reaches the centre of the spiral for the first time, and discovers that James has met her there. Styles threatens him, but he says that he's there to help her. They move into the second spiral.

Inside the spiral, Marigold is experiencing everything all at once. She can feel Alexander and Natalie head to the towers, and James and Styles moving through the spiral. Robert suspects that James intends to get the entity to move into Styles and then murder her, killing the entity as well. Styles may let him do it. She only cares about contacting the entity, not about anything that comes after. Shoshanna says that one person trying to contain the entity alone will unleash a psychic blast that will break down reality. There were some notes about how it could interact with the zombies. Psychic zombies do not sound like a good thing. Marigold remembers the heavy key she was given all those days ago. Shoshanna knows what it is, but if she tells you, James will know. She tells Robert to hold onto it. Styles and James are entering the third spiral.

The way out for the entity has always been through a human mind. The mask is the amplifier. Ancient people knew how to tempt the entity to them, but it was always a negotiation, a dance. This place forces it to move. Alexander and Natalie are at the foot of the towers and still might be able to end this. Styles is angry that the entity doesn't want to be in her mind. James explains that all the sensitives nearly died when they were born. Marigold was born very premature and Alexander with the umbilical cord around his neck. Robert's heart stopped for four minutes and Natalie's mother died when she was born. A lot more babies live now that would have died. There is a zombie carving into the ice walls in the centre of the spiral, and switches that were not there before. James disables the elevators for the towers, knowing that Natalie and Alexander can't reach the top in time. James flips some of the switches, and the entity is drawn into Styles, Being born is not without risk.

Everything is beautiful. Styles is becoming everything. She sees her own past, and welcomes the memory of her mother in. She is vanishing and cannot sustain the entity. James plays a sequence of notes, a kill switch. As Styles vanishes, she passes through the minds of the others and warns them that James has poisoned the entity. It will die if they do not do something.
