Training Mission 1

Your team has a retrieval mission – infiltrate a net-vault and extract a file for your client alongside your sisters, Janine and Amelia. You enter netspace and head towards the corporate sector.

Netspace is idyllic, but Mo sees it as a way to hide from life's problems rather than confronting them. Janine thought they were keeping out of Netspace because Valmont put a bounty on Amelia's head after she sold his corporate secrets. And Valmont is who you're stealing from today. Your client is a private citizen rather than a corporate rival. You reach Valtech HQ but you'll be taking the back way in.

You're sent towards a tunnel which Amelia says has a firewall, and you're being chased by flying dog guards. Janine sends you a code which lets you bypass the firewall, but the alarm is still going. Run!

You're approaching a service staircase and that should give you a clear run to the management suite. Amelia tells you there's black ice spreading behind you – the file Janine gave you might have malfunctioned. You've drawn the attention of Valmont's guards, and Amelia sends you stun bombs to hold them off.

The ice is still spreading and forming stalactites. Amelia wants to get you out – the only other way to the vault is through Valmont's private quarters. Janine says that the job pays a million credits – think of the good you could do with that! Amelia relents and tells you that Valmont's portrait is a secret door. She guides you to a passsageway which should take you to the vault, but every guard will be heading there too. Hurry!

Amelia sends you the vault code and you hook into the data terminal and download the file. But your escape won't be easy – something's jamming Amelia's attempts to extract you. If you keep running, she'll get you out the second you're out of range.

You're back in the real world, and you now have one million credits to split between you. Except wait... The money is being drained from your account. You hear a message from Romero, the leader of the Luddite movement. You've put a target on your backs for nothing! What do you do now?
