1
The creature was wounded by Bakari, but probably not killed, and the tunnels are getting narrower. There are more tendrils ahead and the creature seems angry. You duck down a different passageway, but there are more tendrils breaking through the walls and the tunnel is a dead end! You hear a sound like a bomb going off, and the tendrils begin to wilt. It might be the opportunity you need to get past them!
2
Now that you're not in immediate danger, Peter wants to talk with Janine about Bakari's death. Janine admits that after the death of her parents, Bakari and the boarding school offered the order and stability that she needed, but she is uncomfortable with the similarities between Bakari and herself. Peter reassures her that she has more heart than Bakari and doesn't do things for personal gain. You can't choose everything that shapes you. You're interrupted by the sound of mechanical footsteps. Whatever killed the monster is approaching and you probably don't want to meet it.
3
The footsteps are catching up with you, but Janine can feel fresh air so hopefully you're near a way out. Peter thinks you'll have to go back at some point. You can't leave Van Ark alive. You enter a huge cavern. There's daylight coming through the ceiling, so you're near the surface. Unfortunately, so are your pursuers. They look like people, but they have metal and wires grafted onto them. They're in uniform – and they're speeding up!
4
The soldiers are catching up, but at least the tunnels prevent a clear line of sight. The soldiers tell you that you are preferred alive, but that is flexible. The tunnel becomes extremely narrow and Janine believes you could cause a cave-in. Get ready with the grenade, Five! Now run!
5
The cave roof has collapsed behind you, buying you some time. Peter is certain that the soldiers were the creation of Van Ark and wonders if they have copies of Sigrid working in HR. His comments make Janine laugh. You don't have much time to for tension-relief though – the tendrils must have weakened the rock and your grenade has set off a larger cave-in. There's a sliver of daylight ahead. Hurry!
6
You make it out of the cave and the tunnel entrance has collapsed behind you. Be careful though – you're on a narrow ledge above a river. You must have come quite a distance and you need to get moving or the base will track you. Janine thanks Peter for trying to bolster her spirits. She says that she and Peter are socially difficult in ways that complement each other, and she appreciates it. The touching scene is interrupted by a sound from the cave-in, and an arm breaks through the rock. It has Van Ark's symbol branded on it. The soldiers are still after you, and even a thousand tonnes of rock has barely slowed them down!
