Two Brothers

Mateo has tied you up and locked you in a cell. Felix worries about what has become of his brother. Mateo enters the cell and is clearly worked up. He wants to show you something, and he isn't afraid to kill if necessary.

You're in an abandoned resort near the Red Zone. Mateo tells you that he drank from the silver stream and entered the Red Zone but was assaulted by visions. Even suspecting that the fungus releases psychotropic spores, he believes his mind is clearer than ever. He insists that their sister is in there and you're going to rescue her.

Mateo explains that he read their sister's notes and she'd been planning to visit the Red Zone to try to get resources for the town. As Felix pleads with Mateo, the perimeter alarm goes off. On the cameras you briefly see Isabel along with a lot of other people. Austen threatens them over the comms system – he won't be deterred.

Mateo shows you rooms where he has zombies locked up. He's learned how to use them as a weapon using sounds. Felix argues with him and mentions the monastery, and Mateo admits he'd thought that the monks would run, but they stayed to fight, and the zombies were faster than he'd thought they would be. He says that if you come with him and don't misbehave, he might be persuaded to not set the zombies on your friends.

Mateo retrieves the mask and Jody realises that it's made out of the same stuff as the silver mud. He also has pictures of Moonchild with the mask, and tells you that Valmont also entered the Red Zone – this must be how he got his sample of Red Fungus. He believes the mask is made of a substance that is poisonous to the fungus so it should protect him in the Red Zone. He believes his sister is alive and he'll prove it.

You enter the cabin and Mateo goes to the radio so you can hear Mateo and Felix's sister, Dani. Mateo says he calls every day. Over the radio she says that you have to get her out. Jody realises that the radio isn't switched on. It isn't even plugged in.
