1
Natalie dreams about hunting a man across the ice and being passed a key. She knows she will have to head north. She is woken by Shoshanna. You need to adjust to her body. Natalie is selling guns to the Park Slope Mafia, as she has done many times since Manhattan fell. The leader of the Mafia, Rachel, demands Natalie's weapons and the keys to their gun store – they outnumber Natalie's group, after all. Natalie has a crowbar and you use it as a weapon, then run.
2
In the early days, Brooklyn threw up blockades across Brooklyn Bridge to stop zombies entering. The zombies have rotted down to limbs and heads since then, half merged with the wood. But this is is where Natalie is going with Shoshanna. You're being pursued, so get running!
3
In the four years since the final evacuation, Manhattan has become crumbling and overgrown. You wouldn't want to be here after dark. You're still being pursued, both by the Mafia and by zombie bankers. But Natalie knows places, and you can trap them at Broadway-Lafayette.
4
You take out the zombies, but the Mafia are still after you. The entry to the subway is nearby – you can see the half-burned stairs. Attempts to clear the subways out were not successful. In Brooklyn, all entrances are barricaded to keep the dead inside. But it's your only way out.
5
The tunnels are full of zombies... and rats. You can see light ahead: Union Square. An army guy told Natalie they'd left some incendiary bombs there after the evacuation. Behind you, the headlights of your pursuers. You're doing what Natalie and Shoshanna did when they first met.
6
Once upon a time, Natalie and Shoshanna went to a Jewish speed dating event, where Rabbi Rotterdam turned grey. Shoshanna dangled from a door as bait and Natalie showed her skill with a revolver. In the present day, Shoshanna dangles herself over the entrance to the Flatiron Building. Your pursuers drive in, and Shoshanna drops the bomb, swinging away as it brings down the door. They're probably still alive, but it'll take hours for them to dig their way out. Shoshanna says Boruch Hashem, but Natalie's faith is dried up – she only knows how to survive. With the sidewalk collapsing into the subway, you need to move.

Natalie has seen this place in her dreams. It isn't much; a door between two stores on 34th Street. She shoots the door open, correctly predicting the poster that is inside. Years ago, she attended a music festival and passed out for 12 minutes. She knows where the real offices are. You go in and find a lot of weapons, and a lot of dead CIA agents. Natalie has been having dreams telling her to go north. Something is there, beneath the ice. And Natalie has to find it.
